A tubal reversal is a surgical procedure used to restore fertility after a tubal ligation.  The surgery is typically performed as an outpatient through a small incision in the lower abdomen.  The damaged portion of the fallopian tube is removed and the two ends are sutured back together under an operating microscope.  The success rate is typically very good but depends on multiple factors, the most important being what type of tubal ligation was initially performed.  Patients may begin trying to conceive one month after the procedure.
